What you'll take away
  • Why now — the best companies are staying private longer, so the biggest gains happen pre-IPO
  • The access advantage — how Portfolia's relationships get you into rounds others can't reach
  • Diversification — how Women's Health, Greentech, and Emerging Markets offset AI-heavy portfolios
  • How it works — investment minimums, company selection, and staying involved alongside the team
The Opportunity

The companies changing healthcare, the planet, and the opportunity to thrive — are already in our portfolio.

For more than a decade, Portfolia has invested early in the sectors that sophisticated women know best. Now, the Opportunity Fund lets you follow the proven winners — companies that have survived and thrived during the hard early years. It is a concentrated position in companies who are surging in growth or leading their categories.

The Fund will invest primarily in the most promising breakout companies emerging from Portfolia's diversified portfolio of 100 early-stage companies, complemented by select high-growth opportunities within the broader Portfolia ecosystem that meet the Fund's rigorous investment criteria.

Why This Fund, Why Now

Three things working in your favor right now.

01

The best companies are staying private longer

High-growth companies are reaching extraordinary valuations before IPO — meaning the biggest gains now happen in private markets, not public ones. The Opportunity Fund gets you there.

02

Growth rounds most investors can't reach

Later-stage rounds in high-performing private companies are typically reserved for large institutions and existing insiders. Because Portfolia already sits on these cap tables — coaching the teams and co-investing alongside Sequoia, General Catalyst, and Khosla — we hold allocation rights that funds of our size almost never get, and individuals rarely see at all.

03

Your portfolio is probably overweight AI

Public markets and venture portfolios have become heavily concentrated in AI. Women's Health, Greentech, and Emerging Markets aren't just good investments — they diversify the risks you already hold.

Where We Invest

Three sectors. A decade of expertise.
Companies you already believe in.

Women's Health

The most underfunded sector in medicine is becoming one of the best investments in it.

Conditions affecting over half the world's population have traditionally received less than 2% of investment capital and 4% of research funding. That changed with the Portfolia FemTech Fund in 2018, the first venture capital fund focused on women's health. Today women's health is the fastest growing area in health investment and rapidly shifting women's lives. Portfolia has built the largest women's health venture portfolio in the world: 60+ companies spanning fertility, menopause, longevity, cardiovascular health, diagnostics, oncology, and more.

Greentech & Supply Chain

Recreating how the world makes, moves, consumes and reuses things is the infrastructure play of our generation.

Climate technology, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, and next-generation logistics sit at the intersection of regulatory tailwinds and commercial urgency. The fragility exposed in global supply chains has only accelerated the demand for what these companies are building. We invest in best-of-class founders solving real-world physical problems.

Emerging US Markets

The largest untapped consumer market in America isn't a niche — it's the future majority.

Hispanic, Black, and Asian American communities represent $4 trillion in spending power that mainstream venture capital has chronically underserved. These aren't niche companies serving niche audiences — they are category leaders in markets that are becoming the mainstream. Portfolia invested early, when it required conviction that most investors didn't have. Rising America is the highest performing fund in the category, ranking in the top 5% of 2020 vintage funds.

1

Determine your investment amount

Decide the amount you wish to invest in the Fund, from $10,000 to $500,000. You can also invest using an IRA or Donor Advised Fund.

2

Meet monthly with Trish and Tammi

Every month, Fund Partners Trish Costello and Tammi Jantzen sit down with investors directly — not a recorded update, a working session. You'll hear what they're seeing across the market, which companies they're evaluating and why, how the portfolio is moving, and you'll get an early look at potential SPVs before they're broadly available. It's the kind of access most fund investors never get, and for many of our investors it's the most valuable part of participating.

3

Fund Partners determine the top investments

From Portfolia's current 100-company portfolio, we identify 12–20 companies that have already demonstrated exceptional growth, strong teams, and a clear runway to a major liquidity event — IPO or acquisition. The Fund also pursues select new high-growth opportunities from the broader Portfolia ecosystem that meet the same rigorous investment criteria.

4

Partners and Members stay active throughout

Portfolia doesn't just write checks. We advise founders, assist on strategy, and co-invest alongside some of the most respected funds in venture — Sequoia, General Catalyst, Khosla, and more — which gives us access, information, and influence that protects your position.
